"Rutter demonstrates a welcome level of invention and creativity in the setting of the Te Deum, commissioned by Winchester Cathedral in 2006. The frequent changes of direction in the text are reflected powerfully through a diverse harmonic palette and an innate sense of drama and atmostphere in the writing . . . This setting will be enjoyed most fully by stronger choirs or ensembles in the upper age range." - Tom Wiggall, Music Teacher July 07 "Rutter marshalls his forces superbly around the venerable text in a well-paced, varied structure that conveys huge élan, especially in the great peal of Alleluias that ring out at the end." - The Singer, August 07 ". . . this is a thoroughly well crafted piece
in Rutter's usual manner. There are extended sequences, ostinato organ parts, good melodies and so on - you get the picture." - The Organ August 07
