"My students just love this book. So far I have used it for The Restless Earth section with Year 10 and Changing Urban environments with Year 11. I was particularly impressed to see Haiti and Chile earthquakes compared so clearly, it's the best information I have come across in a text book. Nepal as an example of use of fold mountains was also exceptionally clear and informative. The Year 11 found the section on Mumbai excellent. They have all seen Slumdog Millionaire, so were up for finding out more about the city and solutions to the problems. The case studies are the best thing about this book, I can't praise them enough." - Moira Eddy, Head of Geography,The Duke of York's Royal Military School
"The pages are well structured and useful for all abilities of students. The graphics are colourful and photographs are interesting - this really engages the students and generates some excellent questions! The layout means all aspects of the syllabus are covered with key word lists and exam style questions accompanying each of the topics. The case studies are up to date and interesting for the students to follow - they can clearly see the link between the case study and why it has been selected for a particular aspect of the syllabus. The content of the text book closely adheres to the syllabus and its recent changes! The content within the text book clearly provides students the opportunity to make excellent progress towards the exam. Exam style questions provided give students the opportunity to consolidate their knowledge and generate thinking skills and discussion. All in all a great resource!" - Chris Gorrell, Head of Geography, Millfield Science & Performing Arts College
"To be honest I have found this book the most helpful course specific book I have used as a geography teacher, in addition to the A2 and AS AQA OUP ones! It is easy to follow and breaks each sub section of the course and makes it very student friendly. The questions set are not only useful but ones which can easily be set for a homework activity without being too straightforward. The photos and quality of the maps allow skills to be developed in a straight forward manner - the book can be used effectively as either a student book or dip in book for ideas for teaching key topics. What I particularly like is the clear beginning to each chapter." - Dominic Atkinson, Head of Geography, Gresham's School
