for SSATB unaccompanied Commemorating the martyrdom of St Catharine, this reflective piece sets the Antiphon at First Vespers, Feast of All Saints alongside a thought-provoking contemporary poem by Colin Tan, full of vivid imagery. Melodic lines reminiscent of plainchant enhance the contemplative mood. Suitable for the Feast of All Saints and St Catharine's Day. Commissioned by St Catharine's College, Cambridge, for St Catharine's Day 2007 and first performed by the choir of St Catharine's College, Cambridge, directed by Edward Wickham, on 25 November 2007.
