for solo clarinet and 21 strings Aurora and Vespers are companion pieces and are designed to be played by young/student instrumentalists whilst also being rewarding for professional players. The two pieces may be played as a continuous work (under the title Darkness to Day), as separate works in the same programme (Vespers first), or quite separately.
