Arranged by Philip Lane Philip Lane was born in 1950 in Cheltenham and read Music at Birmingham University with John Joubert and Peter Dickinson. As a composer he is virtually self-taught with most of his most important work on commercial disc. He has written a great deal of music for the Christmas season, much of it orchestral (Three Christmas Pictures, and The Night before Christmas) which has been performed worldwide. He has also written music extensively for radio and television including the immortal Captain Pugwash and library music , one track of which found its way onto the soundtrack of the recent film Ocean's 12. As
well as producing over 100 CDs of orchestral music for leading labels he has carved out a niche for himself as a reconstructor of classic film scores for new digital recordings, most notably in the Chandos Movie series.
